Introduction

Modern marketing automation platforms often lack a unified layer where diverse AI agents—handling tasks such as design generation, A/B testing, Shopify site creation, CRM integration, and conversion rate optimization (CRO)—can cooperate seamlessly. Many tools handle isolated functions (e.g., image processing or ad campaign management) without a common abstraction for communication, orchestration, or resource allocation. This siloed approach makes it difficult for enterprises to scale creative output, ensure brand consistency, and continuously optimize performance across channels. By contrast, Clever introduces a unified ecosystem for AI-driven creative and marketing automation, combining intelligent agents with dynamic microservices and robust APIs. At the heart of Clever is a platform architecture that coordinates multiple specialized AI Agents—one for Shopify operations, another for A/B testing, and others for CRM, CRO, and design tasks. These agents share a common set of interfaces, brand guidelines, and infrastructure services, enabling them to work collaboratively while benefiting from standardized security, resource allocation, and data management features.

Clever’s cohesive approach ensures that enterprises can:

• Generate and iterate on design assets in real-time through intelligent background removal, template adaptation, and brand-rule enforcement.

• Seamlessly provision Shopify stores and products, using AI insights to optimize layouts, copy, and imagery.

• Integrate with CRM platforms to automate lead nurturing, customer segmentation, and personalized communications.

• Continuously run A/B tests to refine web pages, ads, and products for higher conversion rates.

• Deploy multi-channel ad campaigns with performance tracking and automated optimization loops.

Similar to a virtual machine concept in blockchain systems (e.g., Ethereum’s EVM), Clever uses a “common intermediate layer” that standardizes logic, agent interactions, and resource provisioning. This design allows advanced AI-driven functions to expand beyond isolated modules into an economically and operationally unified environment.

Figure 1: Clever Architecture

Below is a conceptual diagram of Clever’s architecture, showcasing the multi-agent system, orchestration layer, and underlying services:

The Orchestration Layer queues and routes tasks between them, while each microservice (box) performs its specialized role using the Common IR data schemas. Essentially, each “side box” is an independently deployable service or container that subscribes to messages from the middle layer (or posts messages/tasks to it) to get its job done. This layered approach empowers Clever’s AI agents to move beyond fragmented or repetitive workflows and into a collaborative, real-time ecosystem— ultimately simplifying complex tasks such as automated design creation, website launches, campaign management, and continuous optimization.

We posit that agent-based frameworks in marketing and design should focus on high-level orchestration, standardized interfaces, and modular expandability, ensuring that each AI Agent can specialize without sacrificing seamless collaboration. By adopting a common “intermediatelayer,” Clever guarantees consistent security, messaging, and data handling standards—paving the way for truly integrated and scalable marketing automation.
